SUMMARY:Spring Cleaning for Household Chemicals
DESCRIPTION:It’s spring cleaning time! You can drop off household chemicals\, including gasoline\, oil\, paint\, fluorescent bulbs and certain batteries\, for free through the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program. Quantity limits apply. Many of these old chemicals are fire hazards and could pollute your home and neighborhood during a hurricane. Clean them out now before the start of hurricane season on June 1 to help protect your community from environmental contamination and avoid waiting in long lines right before a storm! \nYou can drop off household chemicals at the HHW Center\, located at 2855 109th Ave. N.\, St. Petersburg\, which is open select days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, and HHW North\, located at 29582 U.S. 19 N\, Clearwater\, which is open select Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. \nFor more information\, visit Pinellas.gov/hhw. For business waste\, visit Pinellas.gov/bizwaste.

SUMMARY:Free Countywide Tire Disposal Event
DESCRIPTION:Pinellas County is hosting a free tire collection event on Saturday\, April 18\, 2026\, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents can bring up to 12 tires (no rims and no tires over 36 inches) to one of three free and convenient drop-off locations:   \n\nHousehold Hazardous Waste (HHW) North\, 29582 U.S. Highway 19 N.\, Clearwater  \nWalsingham Park\, 12615 102nd Ave.\, Seminole\nLealman Exchange\, 5175 45th Street N.\, St. Petersburg\n\nEvent Details \n\nResidents can bring up to 12 tires to one of the drop-off locations listed above.\nNo rims of any size and no tires over 36 inches will be accepted.\nThis event is for residents only; tires from commercial entities will not be accepted.\nGovernment-issued ID is required to verify Pinellas County residency.\n\nTires collected at this event will be transported to the Pinellas County Solid Waste Disposal Complex and processed at the Waste-to-Energy facility.  \nThis event is a partnership between Pinellas County Mosquito Control and Pinellas County Solid Waste. Waste tires left in the environment collect water where mosquitoes breed. In fact\, one scrap tire can lead to the breeding of thousands of mosquitoes over a single season. Removing these tires helps reduce the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.  \nCan’t make it to the event? Visit Pinellas.gov/where to access year-round tire disposal options.
