SUMMARY:Groundbreaking Ceremony for Dansville Community Park
DESCRIPTION:Please join Pinellas County as we break ground on construction of the Dansville Community Park in the historic Dansville neighborhood\, a part of Ridgecrest. Parking will be available onsite from the entrance on Pine Street. \n \nDansville\, named for  one of its founding residents\, Dan Henry\, became a tight-knit\, African-American community of about 80 homes built on 80 acres acquired by Dan Henry in 1946. In 1992\, a tornado hit the area\, destroying 26 homes. Pinellas County and the community have worked together to rebuild and to preserve the area’s unique history. A historic marker at the site of the new park tells the site’s story. \nFor more information about this project\, visit pinellas.gov/dansville.
