Pinellas County Stormwater Manual Public Input Meeting #2

Pinellas County Building and Development Review Services invites you to attend our second community conversation meeting to share your feedback on the Pinellas County Stormwater Manual as we evaluate the manual and consider changes to improve it.
The in-person meeting will start with a presentation by the County’s consultant company that is conducting the review of the manual, followed by an open house portion where attendees will be able to engage in discussion with representatives of the County’s consultant. The initial presentation will provide an overview of the study efforts, including:
- An overview of the Pinellas County Stormwater Manual’s technical requirements
- A comparative review of Pinellas County’s Stormwater Manual compared to the State and other local municipalities
- An economic impact trending assessment
- Preliminary findings and recommendations for updating the manual
This meeting will be informative for both stakeholders who attended the first public input meeting and those who did not.
Background
The Pinellas County Stormwater Manual outlines the requirements for managing stormwater that must be followed for the construction of buildings and site development in unincorporated Pinellas County. The goal of these requirements is to preserve and improve water quality and protect our communities from flooding.
Pinellas County is working with partners and the community to conduct a peer review of this important manual to confirm how the technical requirements of the County’s Stormwater Manual compare to the State and other municipalities, evaluate whether the manual has potentially impacted economic investment in the County and recommend updates to the manual.
