Vacancies Announced on Educational Facilities Authority Board

Applications due by 3 p.m. Sept. 24, 2025
Applications are now being accepted to fill two vacancies on the Educational Facilities Authority Board. These appointments will begin upon approval and continue through Nov. 10, 2030.
The Educational Facilities Authority was created under Chapter 243, Part I, Florida Statutes, and assists fully accredited institutions of higher education and other educational providers with “projects,” as defined in Chapter 159, Part II, Florida Statutes, by providing an additional means to finance facilities and structures.
The authority may issue bonds to make loans for project costs. The institution receiving the loan is responsible for repayment and administrative costs. All bond issues for educational facility financing must be approved by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. The board appoints a total of five members, including one who must be a trustee, director, officer or employee of an institution of higher education, to serve five-year terms.
Meetings are scheduled monthly and typically held at the St. Petersburg College EpiCenter, Room 1-200, 13805 58th St. N., Clearwater. Meetings are usually on the third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. and are canceled when there is no business to consider.
Applications are due by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025. To apply, visit Pinellas.gov/boards.
