Building and Development Review Services – About Us

The Pinellas County Development Review Services regulates and enforces compliance with a variety of property ordinances, including:

• Engineering and Drainage.
  • Drainage of stormwater from property
  • Site access and circulation
  • Sightlines, distance and other safety issues
• Habitat and Tree Removal.
  • Preserving, protecting or removing trees
  • Preventing or minimizing erosion during construction
  • Protecting and preserving trees, wetlands, buffer zones, and wildlife such as eagles, osprey and gopher turtles (habitat permit related)
• Site Development.
  • Number of parking spaces
  • Limits of water impervious areas
  • Floor area limits
  • Distances to property lines.

We serve unincorporated Pinellas County. Habitat and Tree Removal also serves Belleair Beach, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair Shore and Oldsmar.

Code Enforcement Division

The Code Enforcement Division regulates ordinances for existing buildings and properties in unincorporated Pinellas County. We handle complaints about:

• Dilapidated, damaged and un-maintained buildings.
• High grasses or vegetation.
• Inoperative, unlicensed vehicles.
• Minimum housing regulations.
• Prohibited signs.
• Setbacks and right-of-way encroachments.
• Site plan compliance.
• Stagnant swimming pools.
• Trash or debris.
