A Half Century of Heart: Heritage Village hosts “Preserved with Love” Feb. 28

Festival launches year-long 50th anniversary celebration for Heritage Village as Pinellas honors America’s 250th
Heritage Village invites the community to celebrate a half-century of history and wedding vow renewals at the “Preserved with Love” Festival on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival is the first in a series of signature events planned for Heritage Village’s year-long 50th anniversary celebration.
Established in 1976, the park’s golden jubilee honors five decades of collecting and sharing Pinellas County’s unique history and coincides with the United States’ 250th year.
Festival Highlights:
Family Fun: Enjoy a community market, food trucks and hands-on educational activities for all ages.
Vow Renewals: Couples can reserve a time to renew their vows inside the historic Safety Harbor Church by visiting this page.
New Exhibit (Sulphur Springs Depot): Discover how this historic depot functioned as a critical crossroad for a century of Florida travel.
“Since its founding during the 1976 Bicentennial, Heritage Village has been fueled by a community-wide passion for preservation,” said Monica Drake, Historical Museum Operations Director. “As we look toward America’s 250th, the ‘Preserved with Love’ festival begins a golden jubilee year celebrating five decades of the stories and heritage that make Pinellas home.”
Throughout 2026, the public is encouraged to return for a rotating series of anniversary-themed exhibits, historical demonstrations and community gatherings. Each event will highlight a unique era of the county’s history and the evolution of the 21-acre history museum.
Admission to the festival is free. Donations are appreciated to help preserve the park’s 30 historic structures for another 50 years. Heritage Village is located at 11909 125th St. N. in Largo.
