Elfer’s Spur Trail Extension of Pinellas Trail closed indefinitely

The Elfer’s Spur Trail Extension of the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail in Tarpon Springs has been closed indefinitely due to safety concerns about erosion. The trail runs between the Pinellas Trail near Rivo Place to Tarpon Springs’ North Anclote River Nature Park.

Pinellas County and City of Tarpon Springs are discussing the situation to determine how to best proceed with repairs in the area. Barricades are up to alert trail users to the closure.
