Urban Forestry to host tree giveaway on April 19
Pinellas County Urban Forestry is hosting a tree giveaway for Pinellas County residents at the County’s Urban Forestry and Landscape Services campus in Clearwater from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 19. The giveaway is in celebration of National Arbor Day.
A variety of shade and accent trees are available on a first-come first-served basis at the campus, located at 4550 126th Ave N, Clearwater. Each household may receive up to two free trees. Trees available may include:
- Bald cypress (Taxodium distichum)
- Dahoon holly (Ilex cassine)
- American elm (Ulmus americana)
- S.FL. Slash pine (Pinus e. var. densa)
- Longleaf pine (Pinus palustris)
- Red bay (Persea borbonia)
- Simpson stopper (Myrcianthes f.)
- Florida privet (Forestiera segregate)
Trees are typically three feet or taller and come in a 3-gallon pots, measuring 10-inches in diameter.
