Vacancies announced on Educational Facilities Authority Board

Applications due by 3 p.m. Sept.16, 2026
Applications are being accepted to fill two vacancies on the Educational Facilities Authority Board. Those appointed will serve five-year terms beginning Oct. 27, 2026.
The Educational Facilities Authority was created under Chapter 243, Part I, of the Florida Statutes. It assists fully accredited institutions of higher education and other educational providers with “projects” as defined in Chapter 159, Part II, of the Florida Statutes by providing additional means to finance facilities and structures.
The authority can issue bonds to make loans for project costs, with the institution receiving the loan responsible for repayment and administrative costs. Bond issues for educational facility financing are approved by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. The board appoints a total of five members, including one who must be a trustee, director, officer or employee of an institution of higher education, for five-year terms.
Meetings are scheduled monthly and normally held at the St. Petersburg College Epi Center, Room 1-200, 13805 58th St. N., Clearwater. Meetings are usually on the third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. and are canceled when there is no business to be considered.
