Vacancies announced on North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Citizen Advisory Committee

Applications Due by 3 p.m. July 5, 2024

Applications are being accepted for two appointments to the North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Citizen Advisory Committee. These appointments are for two-year terms, with the initial terms expiring on Sept. 30, 2025.

The North Greenwood CRA was proposed by the Clearwater Urban Leadership Coalition in 2019, which led to the completion of a Finding of Necessity Study by the city of Clearwater, establishing the area’s boundaries, and the creation of the North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area Plan. This plan addresses the unique needs of the neighborhood and is a guiding tool for strategies and policies implemented in the CRA. The plan includes overall goals and identifies types of projects planned for the area. All expenditures of tax increment funds must be tied to the plan’s implementation.

The committee shall consist of five members, with three members appointed by the City of Clearwater City Council and the remaining two members appointed by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. Members should comprise homesteaded residents, business owners, property owner and nonprofit organizations located in the NGCRA boundary.

In addition, one member of the CAC shall represent a CRA Trustees approved Ex Officio Organization. A requirement of this board is that applicant be homesteaded residents, business owners or non-profit agencies with the boundaries of the North Greenwood CRA.

A boundary map of the area can be found at n-greenwood-cra-map-and-description.pdf (myclearwater.com). The policies of the North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area Advisory Committee are available at cwcra_n_greenwood_cac_policy_03182024.pdf (myclearwater.com). The committee meets at a minimum, four times a year. The location and time of meeting is to be determined.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024. The application can be found at www.pinellas.gov/boards.
