Public Works Air Quality Section accepts first new high-tech air monitor from EPA Region 4
Important new development in our collaborative efforts to protect Pinellas County residents: Yesterday our Public Works Air Quality Section accepted the first new high-tech air monitor from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 4. We’ll use this to better support the residents of Childs Park and the City of St. Petersburg by investigating odor complaints and air quality concerns. We will set up the monitors in the coming months so our collaborative team can better understand the issue and work toward a healthy resolution.
Did you know you can report odors on SeeClickFix? Our team added it as an option in response to these concerns.
Special shout-out to our partners at the City of St. Petersburg Office of Resilience, who started the “Smell Something? Say Something” campaign to empower residents as citizen scientists, as well as to the USF School of Public Health for leading a seven-month research project in the neighborhood.
