Local Planning Agency
This agency reviews and makes recommendations to the BCC regarding proposed amendments to the comprehensive plan and land development code, new or major modifications to a Type 3 Use establishment, development agreements, development master plans, zoning changes and other matters as assigned by the BCC.
The Local Planning Agency’s seven members are nominated by a county commissioner member, then appointed by the entire BCC. Terms run concurrently with the nominating commissioners.

All citizens appointed by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners or an individual commissioner to any county board, committee, council, or authority must comply with these standards of conduct.

The Development Review Committee (DRC) is comprised of county staff charged with reviewing zoning and land use proposals, etc., with applicants in order to facilitate staff’s development of recommendations to present to the Local Planning Agency for consideration.
