Fort De Soto Bay Pier Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Pinellas County is pleased to announce that the Fort De Soto Bay Pier Replacement project has been completed and the pier has officially reopened to the public. You’re invited to attend a ribbon cutting for the new and improved pier on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m.
The County removed the existing Fort De Soto Park Bay Pier and constructed a new pier in the same location using concrete piling, concrete beams and a concrete deck. A shade structure was built at the top of the ramp to the dock for the Egmont Key Ferry, and fish cleaning stations were provided for fishermen. Low-level deck lighting was also provided along the pier with special pole lighting at the waterward end.
Join us to celebrate the reopening for the pier and the completion of this project, which was funded using Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Penny for Pinellas funds.
