Mangroves are protected by the State’s Mangrove Trimming and Preservation Act and cannot be trimmed unless you qualify for an exemption or obtain a permit.
Pinellas County biologists and arborists work closely with homeowners and trimmers to ensure all trimming meets the requirements of the county’s ordinance for Mangrove Trimming and Preservation (Chapter 58, Article XVI).
