Brooker Creek Preserve to host Earth Day birthday bash
Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center and the Friends of Brooker Creek Preserve will host Earth Day Birthday: A Springtime Conservation on Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3940 Keystone Rd., Tarpon Springs.
The celebration commemorates the Environmental Education Center’s 20th birthday and the Friends’ 30th year of supporting the Preserve.
Visitors can participate in family-friendly activities that foster appreciation for environmental awareness and protection. Highlights include a “Touch-a-Truck” exhibit, where participants can meet staff from the Florida Forest Service and explore firefighting equipment used in natural areas. Visitors may also support conservation efforts by building pollinator houses and taking home free trees provided by Pinellas County Urban Forestry and Landscape Services.
The day culminates with complimentary cupcakes and opportunities to speak with County officials and local experts dedicated to protecting the wildlife and natural habitats at Brooker Creek Preserve.
This free event is open to the public. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are reminded not to bring their pets and stay on the marked trails and boardwalks.
