Community events scheduled for Consumer Protection Week

Pinellas County Consumer Protection is recognizing National Consumer Protection Week from March 2-8 by bringing awareness to consumer rights, responsibilities and resources.
Residents are invited to join Consumer Protection over the next several days to learn what to do before hiring a contractor, how to handle consumer disputes and more at the following presentations and events:
- Hiring a Contractor Presentation: Learn what you should do before hiring a contractor
- Tuesday, March 4 at 10 a.m.: Hale Activity Center, 330 Douglas Ave., Dunedin
- Thursday, March 6 at 1 p.m.: East Lake Community Library, 4125 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor
- Help with Consumer Disputes: Learn what to do when consumer issues arise
- Tuesday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m.: Safety Harbor Museum and Cultural Center, 329 Bayshore Blvd. S, Safety Harbor
- Consumer Protection Information Table: Get your consumer questions answered
- Wednesday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to noon: Largo Public Library, 120 Central Park Dr., Largo
- Consumer Trivia
- Thursday, March 6 at 10 a.m.: Gulfport Senior Center, 5501 27th Ave. S, Gulfport
- Free Paper Shredding Event
- Saturday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (or until truck is full): Gulfport Senior Center, 5501 27th Ave. S, Gulfport
- Limit of three boxes/bags per person
- Gulfport Police department will also be on site accepting unwanted or unused medications for safe disposal.
