Project Overview

Some of the water mains servicing the neighborhoods around 173rd to 176th Avenue East in Redington Shores and North Redington Beach are reaching the end of their expected life spans. To ensure the continued delivery of drinking water to our customers and reduce the risk of unplanned interruptions, we are replacing sections of these mains. This project will use open-trench construction to replace approximately 11,000 feet of existing galvanized and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes with new PVC lines to increase durability and meet industry standards. We will also be replacing fire hydrants, customer water meters, meter boxes, and service lines.

Project Goals

  • Replace existing water mains, meters, meter boxes, and service lines.
  • Ensure continuity of service and minimize the risk of line breaks or service interruptions
  • Improve public safety through the replacement of existing and installation of new fire hydrants.
