The public information meeting for this project scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Madeira Beach Fundamental K-8 School has been canceled as County staff prepares for inclement weather. We will notify impacted residents and post an update here once the meeting is rescheduled.

Project Overview

The existing sanitary sewer force main running below 53rd Avenue N. from Duhme Road to east of Seminole Boulevard is nearing the end of its operational lifespan. This project will use a combination of open trench construction and subsurface directional drilling to replace approximately 2,900 feet of the current 24-inch diameter pipe with 20-inch PVC pipe to increase durability and meet industry standards.

This project is located on 53rd Avenue N from Duhme Road to the east of Seminole Boulevard in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

Project Funding

This project is funded by Pinellas County’s Sewer Renewal and Replacement Fund.

Anticipated Project Timeline

Construction is slated for late October 2024 and is expected to last seven months. On-site construction typically takes place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and occasionally on Saturdays. The construction schedule may vary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather.
