Klosterman Road Force Main Replacement

Project Overview

This project will replace two miles of an aging, 30-inch wastewater force main from Disston Road from the intersection of Belcher and Klosterman roads to the William E. Dunn Water Reclamation Facility on U.S. Highway Alt. 19 to ensure reliable wastewater service for customers in north Pinellas County.

Replacing Aging Infrastructure

Pinellas County is continuing to invest in infrastructure to meet the community’s current and future needs. Replacing aging infrastructure is essential for maintaining reliable service, improving operational flexibility and protecting the environment. Pinellas County Utilities is actively replacing aging iron pipe throughout its system to ensure reliable service and protect the environment.

Project Location

A new force main will be installed from Disston Road about 400 yards north of Klosterman Road, west along Klosterman Road to the Pinellas Trail and south along the Trail to the William E. Dunn Water Reclamation Facility

Project Funding

This project will be funded through the Pinellas County’s Capital Improvements Plan, the Sewer Renewal and Replacement Fund and future financing.

Anticipated Project Timeline

The project will take approximately 30 months.

• Design and permitting are expected to be completed by early 2026.
• The County will advertise for construction contractors in early 2026.
•  Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027 and will take approximately 13 months to complete.
