Project Overview

Pump Station 182 is an important part of the sanitary sewer system that helps safely move wastewater from Madeira Beach to the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility for treatment. To keep the system operating reliably and to support long‑term community needs, the County is planning a rehabilitation project to update and modernize the station’s components. These improvements are a proactive investment to ensure continued smooth operation and maintain high-quality service for residents.

This project will benefit our customers and the overall community by:

  • Replacing multiple components of the pump station to ensure future reliability.
  • Raising critical electrical components 4’ to ensure reliable service during hurricane flood situations.

Potential Public Impacts

The project limits will be within the existing right-of-way. Pinellas County Utilities will make every effort to minimize the impact of this project on the local community.

  • General Safety: All work areas and potential hazards will be clearly marked, and access will be controlled.
  • Changes in Traffic Patterns: Any lane closures, road closures, and/or detours, will be advertised via roadside signage in advance of the planned changes.
  • Construction Noise, Odors, or Debris: Those living or working in the project area may hear construction activity during weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Public Right-of-Way Landscaping: Surface and sodding restoration to City standards are anticipated within the impacted area.
