A bypass wastewater pump sits at the corner of Oakhurst Dr. and Bayshore Dr. while Pinellas County Utilities crewmembers work to replace the wastewater pump station, August 2025.

Pinellas County Utilities is upgrading a wastewater pump station in Oakhurst Shores. The station was built in 1994 and recently experienced equipment failure. Upgrades are needed to replace aging parts and ensure the system works reliably during storms, power outages and other emergencies. The upgrades will improve service reliability and meet current industry and operational standards.

Project Goals

  • Replace and upgrade aging parts to improve the wastewater service reliability and reduce the risk of future water service interruptions.
  • Improve appearance of the pump station while maintaining quick access for emergencies.

Pump Station 167 is located at the intersection of Oakhurst Dr. and Bayshore Dr. in the Oakhurst Shores neighborhood

Funding

This is a Capital Improvement Project funded by Pinellas County’s Sewer Renewal and Replacement Fund.

Project Status

Construction: Began August 8, 2025. The majority of the work will be cleared out by the end of September 2025. A smaller team will return in November 2025 to install the permanent generator.
