Submerged Water Main Upgrade- Madeira Beach to Treasure Island
Project ID

Project Location

Project Status
Design: Not started
Project Overview
This project aims to replace one 24-inch cast iron and one 20-inch ductile iron submerged water main between Madeira Beach and Treasure Island. These deteriorated pipes have been subject to a corrosive marine environment, and have reached the end of their service life, necessitating the installation of more durable piping.
The replacement piping will be approximately 2,000 linear feet of 30-inch DR-11 High-Density-Polyethylene (HDPE) and 2,000 linear feet of 26-inch DR11 HDPE pipes. With advanced directional drilling techniques, the new piping is projected to extend the life of the water main system, enhancing long-term reliability and performance for the community.
Project Goals
- Replace deteriorated cast iron mains with durable, corrosion-resistant materials.
- Minimize environmental and surface disruption using horizontal directional drilling.
- Extend the service life of critical underwater infrastructure.
