Sutherland Bayou Boat Ramp Floating Docks

The two floating docks at Sutherland Bayou Boat Ramp have been removed due to safety concerns. An aluminum floating courtesy dock is being rehabilitated, and new piles will be installed. This work should be completed in the coming weeks. Exercise caution when using facilities at the Sutherland Bayou boat ramp.

Saltwater – Restroom Facilities Available

This 5-acre boating facility offers direct access to St. Joseph Sound and the Gulf of America. Acquired by Pinellas County in September 2006, this facility is open to the public 24 hours a day and features a boat launching ramp, 50 vehicle and trailer parking spaces, 20 vehicle parking spaces, a designated boat and motor rinse area, and restroom facilities.

Parking Fees:

Vehicle with or without Boat Trailer ……………… $6 daily

  • You must enter your vehicle tag number to use the pay stations.
  • Pay stations accept only credit card payments – Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
  • Pay by Plate System replaces the need to display parking decals.

The boat ramp’s name identifies the adjoining body of water, Sutherland Bayou. This property was previously privately owned and known as the “Palm Harbor Resort.”
