Who is Keep Pinellas Beautiful?
Keep Pinellas Beautiful is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization affiliated with Keep America Beautiful. Their mission is to conserve and beautify our natural environment through community engagement and education.
What is the Pinellas Trail Adopt-A-Mile program?
The Pinellas Trail Adopt-A-Mile program is a cooperative partnership between the public/Keep Pinellas Beautiful (KPB) sector and Pinellas County. This program engages our communities in cleanup initiatives that enhance, protect, and preserve our natural environment along the Pinellas Trail. Program participants agree to perform cleanups 6 times a year to remove litter and debris.
How does it work?
Volunteers will:
- Commit to a two-year contract
- Have groups that consist of at least one adult
- Be responsible for supervising and organizing your team
- Complete a safety training
- Coordinate cleanups with KPB in advance
- Dispose of all trash properly
- Submit the cleanup documentation to KPB after each event
KPB will:
- Provide cleanup and safety supplies to each team
- Provide orientation and education information
- Teams are credited with a sign installed in their adopted area
