South Cross Bayou Facility Education Resources

Location: 7401 54th Ave. N., St Petersburg, FL 33709
The South Cross Bayou Advanced Water Reclamation Facility has an extensive community outreach and public education history thanks to it’s 5,400-square-foot Public Education Center where students can link the classroom to real-world applications. Our tours and presentations show the importance of using resources derived from wastewater, describing the facility as a “factory” that produces reclaimed water, fertilizer and energy.
South Cross Bayou is a 33-million-gallon per day (MGD) Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility serving South Pinellas County. We use physical, biological and chemical processes to recover resources from wastewater. These resources include reclaimed water for irrigation, biosolids for fertilizer pellets and gas for renewable energy.
