Contractor Licensing Department
The Contractor Licensing Department manages the business of the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board. We license contractors to ensure workers in the county have the skills required to perform their work, monitor contractors’ liability and workers’ compensation insurance to protect citizens and enforce Florida and County statutes and ordinances.
Quick Facts
Established in 1973, the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board (PCCLB) regulates certain construction and home improvement contractors practicing in Pinellas County, including all local municipalities. Visit the PCCLB online.
Each year, all contractor registrations and licenses must be renewed between June 1 and Sept. 30. These renewals cover more than 13,500 contractors in a wide range of construction trades. Visit the PCCLB website and follow the instructions to renew a contractor license.
Locally licensed specialty contractors, the State has made changes to your license. New legislation (HB1383) has amended the impacts and extended the effective date of HB735.
