Special Act Review Subcommittee Meeting
July 8, 2026, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
A subcommittee of the Forward Pinellas Board has been formed to review the Special Act that created and governs the Pinellas Planning Council. This subcommittee will work together over a series of meetings to recommend reforms to the responsibilities of the Pinellas Planning Council as outlined in Chapter 2012-245, Laws of Florida. The goal is to explore how the Council can better align its responsibilities, with or without a merger of the Tampa Bay Area metropolitan planning organizations, with the evolving needs of the municipalities in Pinellas County.
