Consumer Tips: Internet Purchases

Follow these tips before bidding online

• Do your homework. Be sure you understand what you are bidding on, its value, and all terms and conditions of the sale. This includes the seller’s return policies, which may vary for every item.
• Get the seller’s name, address and telephone number and research the reputation of the seller and their feedback rating.
• Avoid impulse bids and purchases. Also, research the product. Set a limit for what you will pay, and stick to it.
