Project Overview
Pinellas County is restoring and enhancing a 41-acre section of the Weedon Island Preserve through a pilot project that will remove manmade spoil mounds and improve water flow. Removal of the spoil mounds will create additional black mangrove habitat and the tidal flow will be restored through dredging, filling or de-silting the existing mosquito ditches.
