Strategic Initiatives Team

A division of the County Administration Department that supports open and accountable governance by measuring outcomes, aligning services with strategic goals, and promoting continuous improvement across Pinellas County government. This work strengthens the quality and consistency of county services, so residents experience dependable, responsive support across the organization.

We do this through:

  • Performance Monitoring
Tracking department results, reviewing trends, and helping teams use performance information to support planning and decision making. We also assist departments in telling a clear, consistent story about their services, performance, and community impact.
  • Strategic Alignment
Ensuring that department’s services and initiatives are connected to the Board of County Commissioners mission and valuesstrategic goals and priorities
  • Continuous Improvement
Working with teams to examine processes, pinpoint issues, and develop practical solutions that save time, money, and provide better customer service.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making
Analyzing data and providing insights to support informed, evidence-based decisions.
  • Organizational Learning and Collaboration
Bringing teams together to share tools, knowledge, experience, and best practices to strengthen service delivery.

Our team has worked with departments on a variety of projects such as:

  • Engaging teams in the continuous improvement process resulting in reduced inefficacies through streamlined operations and measurable improvements.
  • Helping teams design surveys that capture meaningful feedback and improve response rates, leading to clearer insights into customer needs.
  • Leading collaborative workshops to craft meaningful division mission statements that guide daily work.
  • Supporting teams in documenting their core services so they can manage workload, set service expectations, and improve transparency.
