Reclaimed Water Rate Structure
As part of our Advanced Metering Infrastructure project, Pinellas County Utilities is installing new digital meters across our service area to provide for more precise and up-to-date water readings, which will allow customers to see how much reclaimed water they are using for the first time. This new rate structure will make water more affordable while encouraging conservation.
Starting Jan. 16, all reclaimed water customers will have four months from the date their digitally metered water usage data is available in the new customer portal before the new rates post to their bills. This gives you time to better understand your water usage and implement water conservation measures as needed.

Security Deposit
Residential Properties
The security deposit amount is based on the size of the meter and services provided. Deposits for single family properties range from $100 to $1,115. Residential deposits are applied to the account as a credit with interest after a good payment history over a 24-month period. If the account is closed prior to the 24-month period, the deposit and interest is applied toward the final bill balance. Any remaining credit is refunded.
Commercial Properties
All commercial properties are required to pay a security deposit. Commercial deposits range from $100 to $18,850. Commercial deposits are not eligible for refund until the service has been finalized.
Deposit Interest
Residential and commercial accounts accrue deposit interest annually based on a six-month average of the 13-week Treasury Bill.
Deposit Waiver
The security deposit can be waived on a residential property if you have been a customer with Pinellas County in the past year with a good account payment history.
Letter of Reference

Veterans must provide a copy of their DD214 to qualify for a residential deposit waiver.
