Frequently Asked Questions

How will the results be shared?

Human Resources published overall results for the Unified Personnel System on this webpage and in the November issue of The Pen newsletter (login to SharePoint required).

Your organization’s results will be shared by your leadership. Each Appointing Authority has received their results from our third-party vendor Polco and will share the information with their employees.

When can I expect to begin seeing changes following the 2023 survey?

The first steps are to communicate survey results with employees and begin identifying focus areas and action plans based on your department’s results.

Was the survey really anonymous?

YES! Your responses are 100% anonymous. An outside vendor, Polco, conducted the survey. Only Polco can see the raw data including demographic information such as employee department, age, sex, ethnicity, etc. Neither Human Resources nor your manager can see names or individual responses.

In no case will information be reported to Pinellas County in such a way that an individual’s identity can be known.

What if I have questions?

Please email our vendor Polco at nes@polco.us regarding questions.

When and how was the survey distributed?

On August 21, 2023, employees received the first message in their work email from Polco with a unique link to the electronic survey. Reminder emails were sent weekly. Employees had 4 weeks to complete the survey.

When did the survey close?

The deadline to complete the survey was 11:59 p.m. on September 15. Due to Hurricane Idalia, the deadline was extended from September 11.

Were the questions the same as last time?

The questions were very similar to the previous surveys in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021 to allow data comparison.

Will individual results be shared?

No. Individual survey submissions are confidential and were not provided to Human Resources, managers, supervisors, directors, or Appointing Authorities in such a way that individual responses are discernible.

Each Appointing Authority received a summary of results to be shared with the leadership team, managers, and employees. This data will be used to plan actions that need to be taken as a result of the survey. This summary looks at trends and protects individual responses.

Will comments be shared with managers?

Comments were shared with the top leaders (Appointing Authorities). At the discretion of the Appointing Authority, survey comments may be released to employees.

When is the next survey?

The survey is done every two years, and we expect to launch the next Employee Voice Survey in 2025.
