Landscape Maintenance Certification
Landscaping professionals are encouraged to complete an approved landscape best management practices training. Landscaping professionals who apply fertilizer are required to complete a state training program and obtain a state license.
Landscape Maintenance Recommended Training
Recommended for anyone that mows, prunes, edges, uses a blower or trims trees to learn best practices for landscape maintenance while protecting water resources:
- Pinellas County Landscape Best Management Practices (In-person)
- Pinellas County Landscape Best Management Practices (Online. To register, enter “landscape” in the Key box and check your email for the password.)
- Green Industries Best Management Practices (also provides CEUs for fertilizer/pesticide applicators)
Fertilizer Applicators Required Certification and Licensing
All commercial and institutional applicators must obtain the Limited Urban Commercial Fertilizer Applicator Certification.
Complete the following to comply with state requirements:
- Complete a state-approved training course, such as the Green Industries Best Management Practices program. Note: There are no pesticide CEUs for the online course. If you need assistance with registration, please call the Pinellas County Extension at (727) 582-2100.
