County Information Center to close after 80-plus days of serving residents’ hurricane needs
After answering more than 35,000 calls and more than 11,000 live chat inquiries related to hurricanes Helene and Milton, the County Information Center (CIC) will close today, Jan. 3, at 5 p.m.
The CIC is made up of County employees and volunteers and is activated during emergencies to answer questions and provide preparedness, response and recovery information to residents. It was activated for more than 80 days for hurricanes Helene and Milton with more than 100 employees and volunteers working various shifts.
Moving forward, residents with County-related questions can contact the respective County department. A list of departments can be found at pinellas.gov/county-government-a-to-z. Residents who are deaf or hard of hearing can chat online with a County employee at www.bit.ly/PinellasChat .
