Good health is key to a fulfilling life. Annual screenings help monitor your risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and other serious health conditions.

Employees who complete an annual biometric screening and health assessment by December 13, 2024 earn a preferred medical plan premium which will save $500 in 2025.

FAQs

How does the program compare to last year?

The 2024 program is the same as 2023:

  • Same process
  • Same cost savings ($500)
  • Same vendors (Quest for biometric screening and Cigna for health assessment)
  • Same health indicators measured for the biometric screening
  • Similar questions in the online health assessment

Why should I do the biometric screening and health assessment each year?

The goal is to identify your health risks, such as high blood pressure or diabetes, which may be prevented through early detection and lifestyle changes. We recommend reviewing your results with your doctor.

See Why are Annual Biometric Screenings Important? to learn how screening can empower better health.

Also see Know Your Numbers: Why Getting a Biometric Screening Matters which explains important biometric markers (such as cholesterol and triglycerides), what they mean for your health, and how to improve them.

How do I qualify for the 2025 preferred premium and save $500?

  1. Complete a biometric screening between January 1 and December 13, 2024. The biometric screening uses bloodwork and body measurements to identify potential health risks. Access both screening options by logging in to My.QuestForHealth.com.
    • If you used the site previously, log in with your username and password; do not use the registration key. If you do not remember, click Forgot Username or Forgot Password for Quest assistance (Pinellas County cannot access your account).
    • To set up a new account, use the registration key PinellasCounty24.
    • For detailed instructions, use the links below to access our help guides:
      • Option 1: Direct-to-Quest Patient Service Center Appointments (recommended) – Use this quick, convenient and paperless option. It’s always free even if you have other lab work ordered by your doctor.
      • Option 2: Physician Results Form – Use for in-network lab work ordered by your doctor (i.e., BayCare, Labcorp, etc.), or for convenience care clinics (Walgreens, CVS, etc.). Paperwork is required.  Please upload, rather than faxing, the form and do so as early as possible since it can take up to 5 weeks for the form to be processed by Quest and sent to Cigna.
You will not see a confirmation screen when you upload the form. Monitor your email for a confirmation from Quest (check your spam folder). If you don’t receive an email within a few days, contact Wellness.
  1. Complete the health assessment by December 13, 2024. This online questionnaire provides a private health checkup and personalized wellness recommendations.
    • Visit www.myCigna.com and click on Wellness then My Health Assessment.
    • Take the assessment as soon as possible.
    • You do not have to wait for the biometric screening lab results to populate in your assessment.

Which biometric screening option should I use?

In order for your results to be counted as complete, you must use Option 1: Direct-to-Quest or Option 2: Physician Results Form.

  • Option 1: Direct-to-Quest is the quickest, most efficient way to get the screening.
  • If you want to use Option 1 AND do additional labs your doctor orders, you must make an appointment using the Pinellas Quest site AND a separate appointment through the regular Questdiagnostics.com site for your doctor’s lab orders. That way, the lab technician at Quest knows they need to draw blood for separate lab work.
  • If you want your doctor to order all of the lab work, including everything on the biometric screening, use Option 2: Physician Results Form.
    • Do NOT make an appointment on the Pinellas Quest site.
    • Make an appointment at any in-network lab.
    • We encourage you to complete the lab work your doctor ordered and have the doctor complete the form early in the year since it can take up to 5 weeks for the form to be processed.
    • Upload the form as early as possible due to the longer processing time.
  • Another option is to print the Physician Results Form and take it to a convenience care clinic such as CVS or Walgreens for completion and signature.

What items are measured in the biometric screening?

  • Blood pressure
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Waist circumference
  • Cholesterol (HDL, LDL, total)
  • Triglycerides
  • Glucose
  • HgbA1C (optional test to measure your average blood sugar level)

If my annual physical is in November or December, what should I do?

Using Option 1 (Direct-to-Quest) is highly encouraged because it’s quick, paperless, and results are available in 2-3 days.

However, if you prefer to have your doctor order the lab work, tell your doctor you do NOT have to wait 365 days because our medical plan runs on a calendar year which means insurance will cover the cost of the visit and preventive lab work any time during the year. Schedule your appointment earlier in the year if you use the Physician Results Form and have your doctor order lab work as part of your annual physical. For example, if your last physical was in November, you can schedule the appointment earlier without incurring any cost.

If your doctor insists you wait 365 days before scheduling this year’s appointment, use the Direct-to-Quest option earlier in the year to ensure you meet the December 13 deadline.

What if I got bloodwork done but did not use the Direct-to-Quest or Physician Results Form options?

Your biometric screening will not be considered completed unless you use Option 1: Direct-to-Quest or Option 2: Physician Results Form.

Schedule another blood draw using the Direct-to-Quest Patient Service Center appointment scheduler at My.QuestForHealth.com (no additional cost even if you already had lab work done).

How can I check whether I completed my biometric screening and/or health assessment?

Use the Completion Help Guide to view step-by-step instructions and screenshots from the Cigna website to confirm completion.

Do I need to set up a new account on My.QuestForHealth.com if I used it last year?

No. Log in with your username and password (not PinellasCounty24). If you do not remember, click Forgot Username or Forgot Password for Quest assistance (Pinellas County cannot access your account).
