JOB SUMMARY

Facilitates the transmission of data for the Clerk’s statewide reporting initiatives. Performs quality control and assists with management of process, workflow, and automation.  Provides assistance with the development and acts as a department liaison for technical and non-technical projects.  An employee in this class identifies and resolves complex matters utilizing Florida Statutes, rules of court, and other pertinent legal authorities and may be required to work in independent and team environments. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (examples, not all inclusive)

  • Facilitates local and state reports in compliance with requirements in one or more assigned court areas;
  • Performs data analysis and assists with producing ad hoc reports as requested by leadership;
  • Manages state reporting mappings, codes, and other case management system configuration related to reporting;
  • Assists with the support of documents, workflows, security, party record management, and automation;
  • Develops and maintains contacts and close working relationships with various state agencies to facilitate accurate state reporting of case data;
  • Assists with development of procedures and training documentation with trainers, supervisors, and lead clerks;
  • Evaluates processes for audit and quality control checkpoints;
  • Assists with preparing training materials for changes to systems;
  • Provides project progress reports to management and evaluates and reports the level of success achieved after the implementation of system changes;
  • Assists with user acceptance testing for case management system and other applications;
  • Assists with troubleshooting analysis and problem resolution;
  • Attends regular meetings with internal and external agencies to ensure accurate reporting;
  • Reviews statutory and judicial rule changes for impacts to state reporting;
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

One (1) year of experience supporting court related information systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Special Qualifications (May be required depending on area of assignment):

  • Florida Driver’s License or Florida Commercial Driver’s License and endorsement, if any.
  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
  • Candidate to demonstrate more advanced proficiency, competency, and satisfactory completion of regularly assigned work in an independent manner.  Appointing Authority retains discretion to employ an incumbent at this level or advance the incumbent non-competitively or competitively after a candidate meets the minimum qualifications to an in-line career ladder position within the same organization or department.

  • Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, policies, personal computers, operating systems, and related software applications;
  • Knowledge of research techniques, methods, and procedures to develop best practices and resolve technical issues;
  • Knowledge of judicial processes, terms, and practices;
  • Knowledge of clerk processes, procedures, and systems;
  • Skill in the operation of computers and keyboard data entry;
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and to express oneself clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to communicate with tact, patience, and courtesy at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to assist lower level personnel with training of new technologies;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, departments, and the public;
  • Ability to understand, follow, and to provide specific instructions, priorities, policies, and procedures;
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, manage, and resolve complex matters;
  • Ability to understand impacts of technical changes on existing processes;
  • Ability to work and make decisions under pressure and meet all deadlines, goals, and objectives as set forth;
  • Ability to operate a computer and other automated systems to enter and retrieve information, monitor work performed, and to communicate information in reports, etc.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Visual ability: Sufficient to effectively operate office equipment including copier, computer, etc., and to read and write reports, correspondence, instructions, etc.
  • Hearing ability: Sufficient to hold a conversation with other individuals both in person and over a telephone and to hear recording on transcription device.
  • Speaking ability: Sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and over a telephone.
  • Mental acuity: Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
