Employee Advocacy by UMR
GenerationYou
When you call our medical plan vendor UMR (UnitedHealthcare), you will speak with a member of the GenerationYou team. GenYou provides 24/7 support to you and your family with around-the-clock accessibility by call and chat.
GenYou is UMR’s employee advocacy service tailored to you and your family’s medical care needs. The GenYou team’s services include advocacy, clinical coordination, and long-term case management.
Services
When you call, the first person you speak with is a GenYou Guide. They can help with:
- Understanding your benefits
- Finding the right program
- Comparing providers
- Scheduling appointments for you
- Gathering cost estimates
- Locating resources
Depending on your situation, they may refer you to a CARE Guide registered nurse and/or social worker who can help with short-term assistance such as:
- Answers to your medical questions
- Help with life events that affect your health or medical coverage
- Identifying diagnoses
- Accessing test results
- Finding a provider
- Help with appeals
- Getting support after a hospital stay
- Accessing behavioral health and substance use resources
- Finding community resources such as counseling, food banks, and housing shelters
- Performing outreach to those at risk of serious health conditions like diabetes, cancer, heart conditions, etc.
Or, if more appropriate for your situation, the GenYou Guide may refer you to CARE Support, which consists of nurse managers for enhanced case management for those who need long-term clinical or treatment coordination.
