Financial Advisor
by Wealthspire
Pinellas County employees and their spouses or domestic partners have free access to the services of a Wealthspire financial advisor. Take control of your financial future today!
Wealthspire offers personalized, one-on-one guidance regardless of where you are on your financial journey. Based on your needs, you can start with the basics of creating a financial foundation like a budget or debt consolidation. Get guidance on managing your money, saving for retirement, and establishing a life plan like a will or trust. As part of a comprehensive strategy, the Wealthspire financial advisor considers your other Pinellas County benefits such as the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and deferred compensation.
What type of support will I receive?
A Wealthspire financial advisor provides individual assistance depending on your needs to help with topics such as budgeting, getting out of debt, investing, deferred compensation, life insurance, retirement, and wills. See more topics in the Services Available box.
How much do the financial advisor's services cost?
There is no cost to you.
How do I get started?
Schedule a free appointment (phone or video) with a Wealthspire financial advisor by emailing financialeducation@wealthspire.com or calling (800) 959-0071. You can meet with Pinellas County’s dedicated advisor, Ethan Nesheim, or the first available advisor.
Will Wealthspire try to sell me a particular financial service?
No. Wealthspire’s financial advisors offer unbiased help because they do not sell any investment or insurance products. They can talk with you about any financial issue and answer any question you may have.
How long are the sessions with my advisor?
Introductory meetings typically last 20 to 30 minutes. Meetings can be longer or shorter based on the complexity of the discussion.
Is there a limit to how many sessions I have?
No. You can meet with a financial advisor as often as needed.
Can my spouse/domestic partner attend with me?
Yes.
Can I work with the same advisor on an ongoing basis?
Yes. You can connect with the same advisor on an ongoing basis, but other advisors are available should you need to meet with someone immediately.
What documents will I need for my meeting?
At the first meeting, you and your financial advisor will get to know each other and outline goals. Depending on your interests and needs, they will provide guidance on the documents needed.
Can my advisor help selecting stocks and bonds?
They can recommend the most appropriate fund lineup based on your goals, but not a specific product.
Is this different than working with my deferred compensation plan representative?
Yes. Your representative will focus primarily on your deferred compensation plan, but a Wealthspire financial advisor will look at the bigger financial picture including other investments and options.
What is the difference between Wealthspire and FRS financial planning?
Wealthspire and Florida Retirement System (FRS) planners are very similar. Both offer personalized financial planning advice and do not sell any specific products.
