Information for New Retirees on the Investment Plan

Florida Retirement System (FRS) Information

Complete these steps upon your retirement:

  1. Review the information included in the MyFRS Termination Kit, which is mailed to you after you terminate employment.
  2. Apply for the Health Insurance Subsidy (HIS) if you have met the normal retirement age or service requirements for the FRS pension plan. You can apply by completing and submitting these forms to the Division of Retirement:
  3. Get a final annuity quote from a MyFRS Financial Guidance Line financial planner at (866) 446-9377, option 2.
  4. After meeting the FRS withdrawal requirements, you may request a withdrawal of retirement funds by calling the FRS Investment Plan Administrator at (866) 446-9377, option 4, or by visiting MyFRS.com. You will need your PIN to process the distribution by telephone. If you have lost your PIN, call the Investment Plan Administrator at (866) 446-9377, option 4. Your PIN will be sent to you via regular U.S. mail.

When Will You Receive a Retirement Check?

You select the payment distribution plan desired. There is no fixed payment schedule.

Retiree Insurance Premium Invoices   

Retirees on the Investment Plan will receive a monthly invoice from the Clerk of the Circuit Court Finance Division for your coverage.

How to Report Changes in Personal Information 

If you have a change in name, address or family status, notify Pinellas County and FRS staff. Complete both of these steps:

  1. Email employee.benefits@pinellas.gov or call (727) 464-3367 and select option 1.
  2. For a change of address only, update your information at MyFRS.com. For changes of address, name or family status, call the MyFRS Financial Guidance Line at (866) 446-9377, option 3, to request a form.
