Ready to take your first steps toward completing a 5K? Join our Couch to 5K Run Club, a supportive, all levels program designed to help employees build endurance, confidence, and consistency. Come join us, make new friends, and take the first step toward achieving your running goals!
What is Couch to 5K?
Couch to 5K follows a 12-week progressive schedule that uses timed run/walk intervals. Whether you’re new to running or getting back into it, this program is for you! Participate in one of two ways: In-person at Crest Lake Park in Clearwater, or virtually.
- Each week, the run intervals get longer, and the walk intervals get shorter.
- From day 1, participants are grouped by pace, so everyone has at least one buddy as you trek around Crest Lake Park in Clearwater. (Virtual participants complete the training at a time and location convenient for them.)
- At the end of the program, we invite you to participate in a 5K race in April. More details to come.
Important: Space is limited. Please register only if you can commit to the full 12-week program, which includes meeting on Tuesdays as a group (or a day of your choosing if you select the virtual option) and following the program twice per week on your own.
When & Where
- Every Tuesday from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. for 12 weeks from January 13 to March 31, 2026
- Crest Lake Park, 201 S. Glenwood Avenue, Clearwater (or a time and location of your choice if you select the Virtual Run Club option)
Registration
- Registration for the In-Person Run Club is full, but you can add your name to the waitlist.
- Register for Virtual Run Club (the group has a limit of 30 employees)
Run Club Teams Group: All registrants will be added to a Teams group for class coordination, encouragement, and to keep spirits high throughout the program.

Virtual Option
Instead of participating in-person at Crest Lake Park, you can participate virtually:
- Commit to the same 12-week progressive program including training 3 times a week.
- Select a time and location convenient for you.
- Train individually or with others.
