Virtual Care

Talk to a doctor anytime with Teladoc Health.
Primary Care Coming in 2026
As of January 1, 2026, employees can access Teladoc’s virtual primary care doctors through the Primary360 program. This includes an annual visit, lab orders, prescriptions, and referrals. This service is new as our current agreement with Teladoc is limited to illnesses.
Teladoc gives you access 24 hours, 7 days a week to a U.S. board-certified doctor through a convenient, affordable virtual visit. All you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer. You can set up a phone or face-to-face virtual visit by using the Teladoc app or website. Teladoc offers virtual care from the comfort of your own home. No more traveling or sitting in a waiting room exposing yourself to illness.

How does virtual primary care work?
- Starting January 1, 2026, employees have access to Teladoc’s Primary360 program which allows a virtual doctor to perform as your regular (“primary”) doctor on an ongoing basis, rather than going to an in-person doctor.
- You’ll also work with a dedicated care team of registered nurses and care coordinators.
- Your Teladoc primary care provider and care team will treat any current needs, connect you to other care virtually or in person, and build a care plan to help you reach your health goals.

Why would I see a virtual primary care doctor rather than going in person?
Primary care is ideal for those who don’t currently have a primary care provider, want to try a new primary care provider, or can’t get in to visit their in-person primary care provider as often as they’d like.
How can a virtual doctor examine me or access my records?
- You will provide information to the Teladoc doctor by completing an assessment prior to the visit.
- The Teladoc doctor can collect medical records on your behalf (i.e., you would sign a release form and the Teladoc team would collect your information/results).
- Teladoc will mail you a blood pressure monitor so that you can take readings and share the results with the doctor.
- With a video visit, you can show the problem area such as pointing to a mole on your arm. With a phone visit, you can upload images for review.
Can I select a primary care doctor or am I assigned someone?
You can choose from a list of available providers. You can review detailed information “About Me” including the doctor’s name, gender, clinical focus area, education, experience, and photo.
Can Teladoc provide prescriptions?
Yes. If a Teladoc provider feels a prescription is needed, they will contact the pharmacy of your choice. This includes prescribing GLP-1 medications to established members for weight loss when clinically appropriate and permitted by state regulations.
Do I call Teladoc or EAP for mental health issues?
- It’s usually best to start with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which offers short-term problem resolution at no cost.
- However, if you are unable to find help from EAP, Teladoc therapists and psychiatrists are available for phone or video appointments 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can choose a therapist or psychiatrist who fits your needs and see the same person throughout your treatment. Your visit will be scheduled within 3 to 7 days.
What is the difference between telehealth and telemedicine?
Telehealth and telemedicine refer to virtual meetings with a medical provider using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
- Telemedicine – Meet with a clinical services vendor such as Teladoc, available 24/7.
- Telehealth – Meet with your physician/doctor virtually during business hours.
Can I schedule a virtual visit with my doctor rather than Teladoc?
Maybe — some doctors offer virtual options. The cost for a virtual visit with your primary care provider or specialist is the same as a regular office visit co-pay or coinsurance, which is $25 for primary care and $35 for specialists with the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and 20% after deductible for the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with HSA. For both plans, preventive medical visits are free.
