The administration office, Heritage Village, Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center and Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations

Belleair Boat Ramp
Floating docks 2 and 3 are out of service.
Fort De Soto Park
Bay Pier
The far end of the bay pier is closed for hurricane repairs. The repairs are scheduled to resume once boat ramp construction is complete, expected in late 2026.
Boat Ramps
All floating docks at Fort DeSoto are currently out of service except one. The adjacent boat ramps remain open. Construction to replace the out-of-service docks is expected to begin at the end of September. The dock construction will take place in phases with three to four ramps closed for about a month, weather permitting, before work moves to the next set of docks. Ramps adjacent to docks under construction will be closed for safety purposes and the others will remain open for use. The boat launch facility is expected to fully reopen in winter. Recycling Center Upgrade
Construction of an improved recycling drop-off center in the Fort De Soto boat ramp overflow parking lot began March 16 and is expected to last through summer 2026. Construction activity is limited to the boat ramp overflow parking area and will have minimal impact on park operations. The recycling drop-off center located a 1/4 mile north of the construction site is open during this construction project. Residents can find additional recycling drop-off centers on this map.
Road and Trail Paving
Paving on the main roadway and trail is expected to begin in September 2026, with an anticipated completion date in early 2027. Those traveling the road and trail are asked to use caution.
Approximately 7 miles of roadways, extnding from the south approach of the Bayway Bridge, along Pinellas Bayway South, and the length of Anderson Boulevard terminating at the east end of Anderson Boulevard will be repaved.
Approximately 6.6 miles of trail along Pinellas Bayway South and Anderson Boulevard at Fort De Soto Park will be repaved. A connection to Anderson Boulevard near East Beach will be added at the northeastern terminus of the trail.

John Chesnut Sr. Park
Habitat Restoration Project 2026
A contractor hired by Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources is treating exotic aquatic vegetation across an 8.5 acre pond in John Chesnut Sr. Park. Work began on May 13 with four treatments scheduled over 12 months. The pond is being treated in sections to mitigate anoxic conditions and fish kills. Exotic vegetation is detrimental to many of Florida’s native plants and animals. Removal of invasive exotic species is consistent with efforts to manage and protect the park’s natural resources. Philippe Park
Playground Closed
The main playground at Philippe Park is closed indefinitely while a new playground is in the planning stages.
The second playground featuring rock structures remains available and is visible from the main road as you continue through the park. John Chesnut Park, located at 2200 East Lake Road, also features two large playgrounds..
Restroom #5 & #8 Closed for Repairs
Restroom #5 and #8 on the north side of the park near the Philippe Pkwy. entrance are currently closed for repairs. Indoor plumbing for restrooms at the park is being replaced on a rolling basis with construction expected to end in fall 2026.

Raymond H. Neri Park
Duke Energy Maintenance
Due to Duke Energy maintenance, the east pedestrian bridge and southeast pedestrian entrance to the park are temporarily closed. This closure is expected to last through October 2026. Please contact Duke Energy for more information, 877-480-2446.
Sand Key Park
While repair work to the seawall was completed, the section will remain closed until October 2026 for equipment staging for City of Clearwater’s Marina construction project. For information about the project, visit the Clearwater Beach Marina Replacement Construction Project – City of Clearwater.
War Veterans’ Memorial Park
Boat ramp closed for repairs through late 2026.
Weedon Island Preserve
A portion of the Bay Boardwalk is closed for repairs. The work is expected to be completed late 2026.
