Summary
Will you cover a family member for benefits in 2025? Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Dependent Verification:
- Pinellas County Human Resources and a third-party vendor, Impact Interactive, will conduct a Dependent Verification beginning in January 2025.
- This is a one-time verification of all dependents on County medical and/or dental plans.
- The goal is to ensure our plans only cover those eligible for coverage, to comply with legal requirements.
- If you don’t submit documentation or your dependent is not eligible, Impact Interactive will notify you in March 2025 that your dependents will be removed from the benefit plan.
Impact Interactive
We are partnering with an independent healthcare auditing firm, Impact Interactive, to handle the verification process. No confidential information will be shared outside of Impact Interactive and the Benefits team.
What Should I Do?
Retirees who cover a dependent on County medical and/or dental plans need to do the following:
GATHER
- September 2024 to January 2025:
Start assembling the necessary documents for your dependents.
REVIEW
- November 1 – 30, 2024:
If you realize that your dependent is not eligible during the Annual Enrollment period, complete the Retiree Group Insurance Change Form to remove the dependent from coverage. This form will be posted on November 1. Contact Benefits at (727) 464-3367, option 1 if you need assistance.
VERIFY
- January 13 to February 28, 2025:
Go to Impact Interactive’s website to answer questions about your dependents and submit documents to verify eligibility. We will provide detailed instructions later.- For example, to verify a spouse, you may submit the first page of your 2023 tax return, and to verify a child, submit their birth certificate. For details, see Verification Documents.
- Do not alter your original document! Make a copy of the document and remove financial information, account numbers, and Social Security numbers using a thick marker or white out. Take photos of the documents with your phone or scan them as PDFs.
- Submit the photos or scans by upload to a secure website, email, fax, or mail.
