County Employees Honored by Big Brothers Big Sisters: Strengthening Communities Through Mentorship

July 2024

In honor of their community spirit and public service, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay (BBBS), a renowned nonprofit organization, recently held a luncheon for a dedicated group of County employees who have stepped up to mentor a teenager through their School-To-Work program.

The employees honored were:

  • Carlos Ayala, PAO Appraiser 3, Property Appraiser’s Office
  • Jennifer Craig, Manager, CAMA Data Quality, Property Appraiser’s Office
  • Leena Delli Paoli, Records Specialist Supervisor, Clerk of the Circuit Court
  • Karen Kelley, Assistant Manager, CCC, Clerk of the Circuit Court
  • Sandy Leggett, Executive Assistant to the Property Appraiser, Property Appraiser’s Office
  • Fotios Mavromatis, Records Specialist 2, Clerk of the Circuit Court
  • Robert Tran, Senior Manager, CCC, Clerk of the Circuit Court
  • Ann Venables, Senior Project Manager, Public Works

At its core, BBBS operates on the simple yet powerful premise of matching adult mentors with young people facing adversity. These mentors provide guidance, friendship, and support, thereby empowering their mentees to reach their full potential and navigate life’s challenges.

For the past 4 years, with the support from Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller Ken Burke and Property Appraiser Mike Twitty, the School-To-Work alliance has fostered positive outcomes for teenagers in the Pinellas County area.
