Open Enrollment FAQs

Access tips and answers to your frequently asked questions about enrolling in Workday for next year’s benefits during the Open Enrollment period.

When is the benefits enrollment period?

Open Enrollment is from October 26 to November 9, 2026.

Who needs to enroll for benefits in Workday?

All employees need to enroll for 2027 benefits in Workday by Monday, November 9, including new hires and those declining coverage.

Can I enroll for benefits in EBS (OPUS)?

No. We are moving EBS (OPUS) functions to Workday, and your 2027 benefits enrollment may only be completed in Workday.

How do I enroll?

  • Log in to Workday to complete your benefits enrollment:
    • Log in to My Apps and click the Workday icon.
    • Look for Open Enrollment in the To Do box. We recommend selecting the Open Enrollment Journey to walk you through the process.
    • After submitting your enrollments in Workday, select the View Benefits Statement button to view or print your statement.
  • For step-by-step instructions, use the Open Enrollment Job Aid.
  • For questions about benefit plan offerings or further assistance with enrollment, call Employee Benefits at (727) 464-3367.

Why do I have to do this? I’m not changing anything.

  • If you do not enroll, you will not have benefits coverage in 2027.
  • Your current 2026 benefits in EBS (OPUS) will not auto-fill in Workday.
  • You need to select each benefit desired for 2027 (medical, dental, Flexible Spending Account, etc.) in order to have coverage.

What if I have a problem logging in?

  • If you are unable to log into Workday, contact the BTS Operations Center at (727) 453-4357 or use the BTS Service Portal.
  • If you are able to log in to Workday but cannot update your benefits selections, please contact Benefits with your name and employee number at (727) 464-3367 or by email.

What is changing in 2027?

Visit Open Enrollment for all the details.

Can I enroll from home?

Yes. You may access Workday via My Apps to enroll at work or at home.

What if I am on vacation during Open Enrollment?

You may access Workday from any computer, so you are still responsible for completing your elections by November 9, 2026.

What if I enrolled but I need to make changes?

That’s fine; you can make changes. Log in to Workday, click the Personal tab on left navigation panel, select Benefits and Pay, and choose Edit under Benefit Event: Open Enrollment. You will return to the Let’s Get Started enrollment screen and answer the tobacco use question again. Your other updates will be saved.

Keep in mind that your choices will be final on Monday, November 9, 2026. Please save a new Benefits Statement if you make changes.

What happens if I miss the deadline?

You will not have benefits coverage in 2027.

Do I have to resubmit my domestic partner paperwork each year?

Yes. After enrolling your domestic partner in Workday, you will receive a Domestic Partner Affidavit in your My Tasks inbox to sign digitally (no notarization needed).

Do I have to resubmit my opt out paperwork each year?

Yes. If you choose to “opt out” of medical plan coverage in Workday due to alternate coverage (such as a spouse’s policy) you will receive an Opt Out Affidavit in your My Tasks inbox to sign digitally (no notarization needed).

Will my supervisor know if I enrolled or not?

No. Supervisors are not able to see who completed Open Enrollment. While we encourage supervisors to remind employees of this requirement, it is the employee’s responsibility.

How can I check that my selections are correct?

We recommend saving the Benefits Statement from Workday after you enroll for your records.

If you did not save a copy and need to view your Benefits Statement after Open Enrollment ends, select your Profile photo, View Profile, select the Actions button, and select Benefits > View My Benefit Statement.

Also as of January 2027, check your first paycheck to make sure the correct amount is being deducted and that all of the benefits you elected are included. If corrections are needed, they must be made by January 30, 2027. For more information, contact Benefits at (727) 464-3367 or by email.

What if I have questions?

  • For questions about enrollment, contact Benefits at (727) 464-3367 or by email.
