Keystone Road & East Lake Road Emergency Access Improvements
Project Information Meeting
Pinellas County hosted a project information meeting on the proposed improvements to the intersection of Keystone Road and East Lake Road at 6 p.m. on June 25, 2026. Pinellas County staff and consultants shared the latest project design, discussed the schedule and answered questions. A recording of the meeting is available below.
Project Overview
An intersection analysis and alternatives development study was completed in December 2022 that evaluated ways to improve emergency services access along Keystone Road and traffic operations at the intersection of East Lake Road.
This project will use the results of that study to design improvements to emergency access through the intersection and reduce response times for East Lake Fire Station 58 on Keystone Road east of the intersection and Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue Station 69 from west of the intersection.

Anticipated Schedule
- Design: Early 2025 – Early 2027
- Construction: Summer 2027 – Late 2028
