McMullen Booth Road Bridges

Project Overview

The objective of this project is to widen both the northbound bridge and southbound bridge on McMullen Booth Road over Tampa Road. The existing bridges include simple span approaches that use prestressed concrete beams on hammerhead piers, however, the main span over Tampa Road consists of tabletop hammerhead piers that utilize prestressed concrete beams with dapped ends.

The existing bridge typical section consists of two 12-foot travel lanes, one 6-foot inside shoulder, and one 10-foot outside shoulder. The proposed widening will add one 12-foot travel lane to the existing bridge in each direction. The proposed bridge typical section will accommodate three 12-foot travel lanes, and two 10-foot shoulders.
