In Pinellas County, all permitted building and construction projects require an inspection. Virtual inspections are available for select permit types.

Schedule an Inspection Online
Schedule online using the Pinellas County Access Portal. You must create an account first, and you will need to have your assigned permit number. You can schedule an inspection as far as nine business days in advance.
- Visit the Pinellas County Access Portal.
- You must be logged in to make, change, or cancel inspections.
- On the welcome page, select Schedule an Inspection.
- Select your record/permit number.
- Select the blue Schedule/Request an Inspection link.
- You will see an inspection list appear. Select an inspection and continue.
- Select a date and all day. Then continue.
- Make sure the location and contact information is correct. Change contact if needed, then continue.
- Add notes if needed and continue.
- Verify all information and select Finish.
Reschedule an Inspection Online
- Visit the Pinellas County Access Portal.
- You must be logged in to make, change, or cancel inspections.
- Select Schedule a Building Inspection.
- Click on your record number.
- Select Actions.
- Select Reschedule.
- Select your new date, all day, then continue.
- Make sure the address is correct. Change the contact if needed and continue.
- Add notes if needed and continue.
- Verify all information and select Finish.
Cancel an Inspection Online
- Visit the Pinellas County Access Portal.
- You must be logged in to make, change, or cancel inspections.
- Select Schedule a Building Inspection.
- Click on your record number.
- Select Actions.
- Select Cancel.
- Select Cancel Inspection.
To cancel a Same Day inspection, please call the Inspections Department at (727) 464- 3888, Option 1.

To schedule an inspection, text “Schedule” to 844-746-1717. You’ll need to provide your permit number and the four-digit inspection code you would like to schedule. See example below.

To reschedule an inspection, text “Reschedule” to 844-746-1717. You’ll need to provide your permit number.
To reschedule or cancel after 7:00 AM the day of the inspection, please call the Inspection Desk at (727) 464- 3888, Option 1. Failure to inform us may result in fees.

Schedule an Inspection by Phone
Call the Automated Phone System at (727) 453-4000. You will need to have your inspection code and your assigned permit number.
Calls received before 3:30 p.m. may be scheduled for the next business day. Calls received after 3:30 p.m. will be scheduled for the second business day.
You can schedule an inspection as far as nine business days in advance.
- Select 1 to schedule an inspection, 2 to reschedule or cancel, 3 to get inspection results, 0 to talk to staff.
- Select your permit letters (1 BC, 2 BR, 3 EBP, 4 CBP, 5 RUP, 6 HTP, 7 CB, and 8 CW).
- Choose your year.
- Enter your five digits.
- Select inspection type by entering the four-digit inspection code.
- Select a date.
View an Inspection Result
- Visit the Pinellas County Access Portal.
- Type your permit number in the search box Ex: EBP-22-01234.
- Select the Record Info link.
- Select the Inspections link.
- Your results will appear below.
You can also check inspection results by texting “Results” to 844-746-1717. You’ll need to provide your permit number.
Complete a Virtual Inspection
Customers can now complete certain inspections virtually, without waiting for an in-person inspector. Visit the Virtual Inspections page to see which permit types are eligible for virtual inspections.
