Healthcare Costs
- Flexible Spending Account/FSA (Pinellas County) – Save money by contributing tax-free dollars for qualified healthcare expenses and/or dependent care expenses for children and adults.
- If your predictable expenses add up to at least $10 per pay period, you may save up to 30% by participating in the Healthcare FSA.
- If you pay at least $260 a year for work-related childcare or adult care, you may save money by participating in the Dependent Care FSA.
- Health Savings Account (Pinellas County)
- Employees on the High-Deductible Health Plan can make pre-tax contributions to an HSA account to be used for qualified expenses and healthcare costs.

- Medical Plan Savings (UMR)
- Use in-network providers which cost less than those that are not part of the UMR network.Look for preferred providers who potentially charge less. Visit UMR’s Find a Provider tool and look for providers with two blue hearts and the Premium Care Physician designation.
- Use the Health Cost Estimator – Not all providers charge the same for services. For example, an MRI at a facility attached to a hospital will be more expensive than a standalone facility.
