Disposal Fees: Solid Waste Disposal Complex

Visit Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for PPE required at the Solid Waste Disposal Complex.

Fees are based on the vehicle type, or the mode of transportation, like a car, pickup truck or box truck, that you use to bring your garbage to the Solid Waste Disposal Complex.

Disposal Fee: $54.50 per ton

Any vehicle larger than a passenger vehicle or with a trailer attached are charged disposal fees by ton. This includes pickup trucks with sidewall modifications, box trucks and pickup trucks with trailers or dump trailers.

Deposit

For non-account customers, a deposit based on 35% of the vehicle’s total loaded weight by ton is required up front. After disposal, you will pay a second and final disposal fee based on the weight of the garbage you disposed of on-site. The deposit is released. Credit/debit card deposit may be held for three to five business days based on the policy of the customer’s bank.

Example

You drive your vehicle, trailer and garbage to the Solid Waste Disposal Complex. Scalehouse staff record your vehicle’s total loaded weight, which is five tons. At $54.50 per ton, the disposal fee for five tons would be $272.50. Scalehouse staff will charge your credit/debit card a deposit of $95.37 (35% of $272.50). This is the first charge to your credit/debit card.

After disposal, your vehicle is lighter and weighs 3.5 tons. Your disposal fee is based on the garbage you disposed of on-site. This is your starting weight, or your vehicle’s total loaded weight, minus the end weight, or weight after disposal (5 tons – 3.5 tons = 1.5 tons of garbage disposed of on-site). Scalehouse staff will charge your credit/debit card a disposal fee of $81.75 (1.5 tons at $54.50 per ton). This is the second and final charge to your card.

Your initial deposit of $95.37 will be released on your credit/debit card, depending on the bank policy of your card. You will have the amount back on your credit/debit card in three to five business days.
